CWFM truckin to-old goat with truckStop by and stock up for all your Super Bowl party needs  CWFFarm will be at the Columbus Winter Farmers Market Saturday January 31, 2015 from 10am-1pm, at Whetstone Community Center, 3923 N. High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43214. The market is held inside and it is toasty warm at the market.

We will have fresh broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, carrots, cabbage, onions, fingerling potatoes, garlic sweet potatoes, winter squash, along with our farm fresh eggs,  honey, maple syrup, jams & jellies, herb dips, rubs & seasonings and our delicious chicken, ground pork & pork sausage, and ground beef.

Here is a great recipe for parties or get together’s made with our ground chicken or you can substitute ground pork or ground beef also.

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Meatballs

Prep Time 15 minutes    Cook Time 2 hours, 5 minutes    Total Time 2 hours, 20 minutes  Yield 6 servings

These meatballs are a lighter, healthier alternative to buffalo wings, and you can easily make them right in the slow cooker!slow cooker buffalo chicken meatballs

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Carousel Watergardens Farm ground chicken
  • 3/4 cup Panko Breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat; set aside.

In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, Panko, egg, garlic and onion powder and green onions; season with salt and pepper, to taste. Using a wooden spoon or clean hands, stir until well combined. Roll the mixture into 1 1/4-to-1 1/2-inch meatballs, forming about 24 meatballs.

Place meatballs onto prepared baking sheet and bake for 4-5 minutes, or until all sides are browned.

Place meatballs into a slow cooker. Add buffalo sauce and gently toss to combine. Cover and cook on low heat for 2 hours.

Serve immediately.

For variation drizzle with blue cheese dressing,  or  garnish with  Cathy’s tasty treats dips such as Tangy onion,   if desired.

Note: you can substitute our ground beef or ground pork to make the meatballs.
